Leia Redman is a Clinical Psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, specialising in clinical child and adolescent psychology.

She has extensive experience in working with children and adolescents with a range of mental health issues including:

Leia has training and experience in a variety of evidence based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Interpersonal Therapy (IPT); Solution Focused Therapy; Play Therapy; and Family Therapy. Leia has a passion for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parent Training and Family Therapy. With regards to Parent Training Leia uses the 123 Magic Behaviour Management Program by Clinical Psychologist Dr. Thomas Phelan. This assists parents in managing challenging behaviour in children aged 2-12.

Leia also treats clients across the developmental lifespan including young adults, adults, couples and seniors.

Child & Adolescent Psychology

Leia’s experience and passion for child and adolescent psychology began during her Master’s degree and has developed over the past 8 years.

As well as treatment, Leia also has experience in academic testing to address and understand learning difficulties or highlight areas where the child has excelled learning. Testing measures used include: Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children; Wechsler Individual Achievement Test; Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence; and the Stanford Binet Intelligence Scale.

Leia’s therapy philosophy is to create an open and trusting environment whereby clients feel safe and secure enough to begin their journey of self-discovery, and to work towards living a meaningful life, by being the best version of themselves.

Leia is able to accept your referrals for Individual Psychological Therapy Sessions as provided by a Clinical Psychologist under Medicare’s Better Access Initiative. Clients that obtain a referral by means of a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan will be entitled to the set Medicare Rebate available under this initiative.
